Draft Grades: Pulse

Overview

If Precision drafted the league's most explosive offense, Pulse drafted the league's most complete roster.

Captain Jeville Harry built his team around size, athleticism, and two-way basketball. Pairing his own versatility with former Finals MVP Javonte Mitchell gives Pulse two players capable of taking over a game, while the addition of Kerry Branford and Ben Girden creates arguably the most dominant frontcourt in the BUBL. Rather than chasing flashy picks, Jeville assembled a roster where every player has a clearly defined role.

Pulse may not have the same perimeter firepower as Precision, but they make up for it with elite defense, rebounding, and physicality. On paper, this is one of the most balanced teams entering Season 3.

Biggest Strength

Size and Defensive Versatility

No team can match Pulse's combination of length and interior presence. Jeville and Javonte can defend virtually every position, Kerry is one of the league's premier rim protectors, and Ben Girden gives them another strong body in the paint. Add defensive specialist Ricardo Barillas to the mix, and Pulse has the personnel to make life difficult for opposing offenses.

Biggest Concern

Perimeter Shooting

Pulse has plenty of players who can score, but consistent outside shooting isn't their biggest strength. Against teams that pack the paint or force them into half-court sets, they'll need players like Marc Wilson and Malachi Redman to knock down open looks and keep defenses honest.

Best Pick

Javonte Mitchell (Round 2)

Landing a former Finals MVP in the second round is tremendous value. With the size of a forward and the ability to create offense like a guard, Javonte is one of the most dangerous offensive players in the league. If he brings consistent energy on both ends of the floor, this could prove to be one of the biggest steals of the draft.

Sleeper Pick

Malachi Redman (Round 7)

Malachi quietly has the ability to put points on the board in a hurry and was an excellent value in the seventh round. While he may not receive the same attention as Pulse's stars, his scoring ability and efficiency could make him one of the more impactful late-round selections in the draft.

X-Factor

Jeville Harry

Jeville's versatility is what makes this roster work. He can guard every position, push the pace, create for teammates, and score when needed. Just as importantly, his leadership will be key to keeping a deep roster engaged and maximizing the strengths of the players around him.

Final Verdict

Pulse didn't just draft talent—they drafted balance. With elite size, athleticism, rebounding, and defensive versatility, they enter Season 3 as one of the league's most complete teams. While perimeter shooting remains the biggest question mark, there are very few weaknesses on this roster. If the chemistry develops as expected, Pulse deserves to be considered the early championship favorite.
