TRADE GRADE: Voltage x Elevation

⚡ VOLTAGE ACQUIRES

Ralph El-Hakim + Albert Ocran

Grade: A

This feels like Voltage deciding they know exactly what they are and adding two players who complement that identity.

Ralph El-Hakim is a pure catch-and-shoot weapon. He doesn't need touches or possessions called for him to affect a game. With players like Jayson Luong, Sean Nicholas, and Ruach Padhal capable of creating advantages off the dribble, Ralph can simply find space, punish help defense and give them another legitimate floor spacer. That's an extremely clean offensive fit.

But Albert Ocran might be the piece that makes this trade particularly scary for Voltage.

They were already a strong rebounding team, and now they're adding someone who is consistently among the BUBL's best rebounders — particularly on the offensive glass. Pairing Albert with John Pytka gives Voltage two big, physical interior players they can rotate through and repeatedly throw at opposing frontcourts.

Neither necessarily has to dominate offensively. They can screen, rebound, defend, create extra possessions and simply wear teams down physically over the course of a game.

Voltage sacrificed two strong, athletic forwards to do it, but they've turned them into elite specialist skills: shooting and rebounding.

🦅 ELEVATION ACQUIRES

Dilan Atanga + Frankie Benneh Jr.

Grade: A

This isn't really a two-player trade when evaluating Elevation anymore.

It's the second half of a complete roster overhaul.

In consecutive moves, Elevation has now added:

Andre Araujo
Dilan Atanga
Frankie Benneh Jr.

And all three are strong, physical forwards.

That's a dramatic change to the makeup of this team. Instead of simply swapping comparable pieces, Elevation appears to be building toward a lineup that can switch more defensively, play with considerably more physicality and throw different combinations of forwards at opponents.

Losing Albert does leave an obvious question at center. Charlie could slide into the 5, or Elevation could embrace the overhaul completely and play more forward-heavy lineups. They may sacrifice some traditional size, but the trade-off could be significantly greater defensive versatility.

And that's what makes this so interesting.

Elevation hasn't just changed personnel — they've changed what kinds of lineups they're capable of playing.

Dilan and Frankie join Andre as three new pieces who can bring strength and athleticism to a team that needed something different. Now Alex Warda and Tito Lazo-Castro are surrounded by a substantially different supporting cast than they had just two weeks ago.

🏆 TRADE VERDICT

Voltage: A
Elevation: A

I don't think I would declare a winner here.

Voltage took two versatile forwards and turned them into one of the league's better catch-and-shoot specialists and one of its premier offensive rebounders. Their roles are obvious from Day 1.

Elevation is making the bigger gamble, but potentially the more transformative one. Between this trade and the Andre Araujo acquisition, the old Elevation rotation has essentially been torn down and rebuilt on the fly.

Now we get to find out whether it worked.

Voltage refined its roster. Elevation reinvented theirs. ⚡🦅
